Montanella Raclette (formerly sold under the name of Grand Cru Raclette), 2 blocks of 1.75 lb (Total of approximately 3.5 lb). This cheese is made by cheesemakers trained in time-honored techniques that date back to the twelfth century. Handcrafted in small batches and cured in curing cellars, this washed rind cheese has a velvety, semi-soft body and a nutty, yeasty finish. This sensational melting cheese is a must for any authentic raclette dinner. One block is about the right amount of cheese for a raclette party of 4-5 people. The left over piece can be stored in the refrigerator for 6 months or frozen to keep even longer, or be used for other delicious recipes that ask for melting cheese.
Good news for vegetarians: This cheese is made with microbial rennet! Half wheels are available on request.
The cheese will usually ship with UPS ground or US priority mail from WI the following Monday or Tuesday after placing the order. We will contact you if we feel that we can't guarantee the freshness of the cheese by ground shipment. To avoid expedited shipping charges we ship the cheese on ice. Please allow for a fee of $4.00 to cover the cost of ice and foil.
