Crafted the old fashioned way, the cheese is wrapped with a gauze band around the wheel with a bumpy, rustic looking surface. Deep, earthy, and perfectly light, with a yogurt like sourness, slight core still in the paste. The Vacherin melts like cream. It is made from raw milk.

The half wheel is about 6.5 lbs.

Vacherin is an indispensable part of the popular Moitié-Moitié fondue and tastes delicious on its own too.

Vacherin is often used half and half with Gruyere cheese or just on it's own.
