French Raclette Cheese Milledome, half wheel, 7 lbs
This Raclette cheese is made by Fromagerie Du Livradois. It's a semi-hard cheese made from pasteurized cow's milk. After a minimum of 8 weeks maturation, the cheese has a thin rind whose hue can vary from golden to light brown with some grey spots. The cheese melts in the mouth with a fruity flavor.
The half wheel is about 7 lbs. With the nice rind it works well on a raclette melter.
Made with microbial rennet - great for vegetarians!
The Societe Fromagere du Livradois is based in Fournols and was created in 1949 by Jean Thuaire. It remains to this day a family run cheese dairy that never seem to change, enriched by a well-preserved territory at altitudes of between 2300 and 4000 feet.
The dairy farms and cheese makers are located in the heart of Livradois-Forez Regional Natural Park in Auvergne.
This French Raclette cheese is creamier and also stronger than the Swiss Emmi Raclette.
The cheese will usually ship with UPS ground or US priority mail the following Monday or Tuesday after placing the order. We will contact you if we feel that we can't guarantee the freshness of the cheese by ground shipment. To avoid expedited shipping charges we ship the cheese on ice. Please allow for a fee of $4.00 to cover the cost of ice and foil.
During the warmer month we will ship the wheel cut in halves and separate vacuum sealed because it develops a strong odor during transportation. If you need to receive a full wheel (not vacuum sealed), please note during check out.
If you need to get the order for a certain date, please check with us at info@raclettecorner.com or call 605 332 5572.
We cannot provide gift wrapping for cheese.
